Today after more than a month, after enough waiting from the patent office for any information/intimation I  decided to take some action and visit the website. I was not only disappointed but horrified to see that there was no trace of my earlier application/payment or any way of tracing the Permanent number alloted to me when I had applied for the patent and made payment of Rs. 1000 for the same.
I immediately shot an email to the authority mentioned in the receipt of the payment which also mentioned the CBR number.
Now waiting for any reply. By the way the contact us link on the account page to submit and trace the status of application as provided  does not work so forget about getting any response from the website administrators.

Finally, some work done.

This is during the summer vacation that I have been able to proceed.
When I tried to log in, I found that my account at the efiling patent Site has been cancelled. After multiple attempts I re registered my self using the dsc purchased earlier.
Once I was able to log in the interface has changed. First thing i could see was forms list which directed me to form 1.
Filled it up. It was very user friendly.
Uploaded an sketch of the product I am designing and asking for the Patent. Digitally signed this document and made the payment via State Bank Of India online banking. I received a receipt and then was asked to check for a permanent Number after two working days.

Today I received the DSC and proceeded to register on the panent india website.

As mentioned I had received the DSC token "Trust key" after few days of making the payment to E-mudra. The process was very convenient as I just had to fill up the form online and deposit the fee using online banking. For this purpose State Bank of India is the most convenient bank as per my experience as it has wide acceptability.
But that was not enough. When I tried to register on the website of the patent controller of India , I could not re gister myself as the digital certificate was somehow not working. I sent an email to info@emudra.com, they were prompt to reply back and asked me to provide me access to my computer at my convenient time .
In the meanwhile a courier from the company emudra approached me for fetching the documents needed for issuing the DSC. I gave him the same and received a receiving of the same .
now coming back to the issue of non working DSC , when  engaged in the on line session with the EMudra representative, he told me to install a small software in my computer using which he was able to check the problem. It was then that we realized that the USB token did not have any DSC in it. It was then made clear to me that though Ihad received the USB token but the certificate is issued only when the documents are received by the company and then it takes two or three days time to process and issue a certificate.
on 13th February I got a mail and a sms telling me that certificate is ready. Iwas supposed to visit the EMudra website and download the same using my application number and a challenge key and my date of birth as mentioned in the application form.  I followed the instructions and it was very easy to download the certificate and install it to the USB token by following the given instructions.

The first step

Finally ordered four class three digital signature certificate from e mudra.
This was a very convenient transaction completed Via their website www.emudra.com, where I filled up my details, the requirement, and online payment through the State Bank Of India portal.
The cost of class three digital signature certificate for one year with USB token was 2826 INR.
The filled up application form came to my email and I had to attach my passport size photo, sign at appropriate place and attach a photo id and an address proof document. The photo copies were to be self attested. Now these documents will be collected from my door step within 72 hours.

Day after day one.

I finally thought of seriously considering getting patent for my ideas. I have titled this as day more than one because I have been trying to get patent for long and making various attempts to do so.

1. visiting the online e-patent portal of Controller General of Patents Designs and Trademarks and trying to register from the link provided at the homepage, but to no benefit and I could never register.
2. I tried to create digital signature myself using free service providers which I reached by using Google search. Later I learned that only specific service providers are allowed and authorised to distribute digital signatures. The manual at this link also emphasizes the same.

Now decided to get a digital signature certificate class 3 level I contacted a Charted accountant in my city who had earlier filed my income tax. I guess the reader also can seek support from their CA. My CA offered digital certificate from two companies (n)code and TCS which are mentioned in the manual , and additionally emudra which is not mentioned in the manual provided by the  Controller General of Patents Designs and Trademarks.
So, I decided to go with nCode as this was cheaper than TCS. Now I had to provide PAN card, Address proof, a photograph and a form to be filled to get class three digital signature from ncode via my Charted Accountant.
